National Stepfamily day is September 16th. What are your plans?

National Stepfamily Day is Sept 16th. Many stepfamilies go through their existence together never feeling as if they fit. They feel different, not accepted, and even like an outsider within their own family.

Let this day be a day to celebrate all that is good within a stepfamily, all the positives that happen and help create more awareness around this often overseen subject.

This year, we celebrated being a stepfamily by being all together for both of my stepdaughters weddings that took place this year. For us, that was our special moment. We honored all parents, both biological and step and created some new traditions in our home.

Our family has known its share of ups and downs but we also new when to come together as a family and put aside our differences. That is the best gift we can ever give to each other.
