My Little Part of Heaven

I just came in from planting my garden. I've been wanting to do this for a very long time but could never find the time. I was always too busy taking care of my kids and then my husband and then school and then granddaughter, etc.
Well this year, there is no excuse. Plus, I had my youngest stepdaughter planting her first garden from her apartment and she's never home! So I bit the bullet and did it. Instead of planting so many flowers, this year I planted some tomatoes and peppers among them. I also put in some beets, broccoli, beans and lettuce. My only problem with the lettuce is it's now in my neighbor's yard. I had originally planted it two weeks again but it rained so much that it disappeared so I had to start over again.
I'm very excited because I enjoy playing in the earth, getting my hands in the dirt, all muddy and warm. There is something very therapeutic about connecting with Source of life and energy and for me, this is where I get my best inspirations. Freeing up my mind to go where it wants has provided me with many answers to some of my biggest dilemmas.
As a kid, I used to say that God will take care of my problems while I'm sleeping. And wouldn't you know, somehow, I got the answer I was looking for. As I grew up, I couldn't find the time anymore to just let go of my dilemmas. It seemed that I was determined to do it all by myself. I've learned that the wisest people never do it all alone, they always have someone to guide them through the process.
Gardening for me is my way of connecting with God and Source and Mother Nature and just letting myself be taken care of all the wonderful wisdom that is out there. Now I just hope that I can have a few vegetables in the process so that I will see the rewards of my hard work.
I'll keep you posted on what comes up and if we get to eat any of it.
