Breathing is the message of the day

All day long,I've been trying to get some work done, thinking of my next best thing. How can I help others be better parents? How can I help improve on couple's relationship? Here I am looking at my emails and reading some posts on the web and the same message kept coming up for me...Breath!
I know, we all breath. We do it without thinking. But what I am referring to here is to actually take some real deep breaths, or the Buddha Belly Breath as I've heard other coaches say and see what happens.
Our lives tend to be very hectic nowadays. It seems that we hardly have time to sit together and have meals that something comes up. The kids have some sort of practice or rehearsal, the parents need to finish an important report for work, or do some odd jobs to help bring in extra income. At the end of the day, we feel anxious, tired and disconnected. We are running on empty.
What breathing does is it helps ground you so that you have a few seconds to just regroup with yourself before tackling something else. It helps to clear the fog that accumulates in your brain that prevents you from thinking clearly. I often recommend this to the women I work with because they are often trying to do everything at the same time--being mothers, wife, housekeepers, business owners, shoppers, you name it they do it.
When we stop to breath, we give ourselves the permission to take in life and just experience it in the moment. It permits us to reflect on why we do all the things we do in a day. It also gives you time to say thank you to yourself for being able to accomplish all those task and then go on.
So take a moment right know to take a really deep breath, feel it in your body and say thank you for being here.
Now off for my next thing!
